Description

Q. How long should I burn my candle for?

A. It is recommended that you should burn your candle at least until the melted wax pool reaches the edge of the container and for a maximum of 4 hours at a time.

Q. Why did my candle burn down the middle and not out to the edge?

A. You should always let your candle burn long enough for the melted wax pool to reach the edge of the container if you do not allow this on the first burn then you will get what is called a tunnelling effect. Natural wax has a memory and will only burn to the area it reached on its previous burn. Depending on how long you typically burn a candle for should determine the kind of candle you should buy. If you only burn your candle for an hour at a time then you should probably buy a votive as it has a smaller diameter and is more suited to shorter burn times.

Q. Why does my wick curl up?

A. If you do not trim your wick each time before lighting your candle, then the wick will curl into itself. Always trim your wick before lighting your candle. Check you candle suppliers safety instructions that come with your candle as different manufacturers guidelines vary.

Q. I find the wooden wick is hard to light?

A. Due to the width of the wooden wick they can take slightly longer than the cotton wicks to light especially if you have not trimmed them from the previous burn. Alway trim your wick before lighting your candle.
